I really wish this car had been sold in th US. I'd drive one. It's just such an oddball, which makes it the BMW for me. I know we got the E36 318ti compact, but it'a not quite as weird. And it's pretty lame we only got the 318 compact, and not the 323 option. Plus they made a 325ti for the E46.

The 318ti doesnt deserve all the hate that it gets and while looks-wise it isnt as odd it certainly is mechanically speaking. The E46 compact shares the same suspension and drivetrain with all the other E46s and only has a quicker steering rack while the E36/5 has a mildly upgraded E30 rear suspension and E36 front. But yes, it is a damn shame that they didnt sell it in the US because I would absolutely love an E46 325ti

It looks like a Chinese knock off.

I just wish it got the standard E46 headlights. I can't stand that front end. Otherwise I'd totally rock an E46 compact if they had come to the states. Especially with more options than the 318.
My old 318ti:

The E46 Compact with those small headlights just look so odd. I see a few of them around mainly as they are so cheap and cheaper to insure for people who want a BMW 3 Series but can't afford the insurance for the coupe for a couple of years or so.

One of these with an M3 drivetrain is probably my all-time ideal BMW.

I've seen E46 325ti's in the US. There was a green one on Car Max I was eyeballing for a while.
